What is spam and how do you avoid your content to becoming it

The last couple of days I have been writing about posting at least two times a day on every social platform to maximize the chance of getting noticed. I also wrote about the usage of hashtags in a earlier post. In this post I’m going to teach you about spam which is a really big mistake a lot of people don’t realize they are doing.

What is spam? On every social platform, e-mails and even websites they are almost always a function programmed to delete spam. This is when people post/send the same messages to you over and over again. There are ways to post multiple times a day and not being registered as spam though.

When we use hashtags on a photo that picture will be sent to a group of that hashtag. In other words a place for everyone using the same hashtag. This is a simple marketing strategy that a lot of people are using to start building a following from scratch. It’s nothing wrong with using hashtags but the mistake many people is making, is to use the same hashtags on every post they publish.

When you do this mistake every day the social platforms are soon enough going to think your posts are just spam. When this happens the platforms will stop showing your posts to other people and your SEO (search engine optimization) will also take some damage.

Their are a lot of ways to improve your SEO ranking which means you rank higher on search engines like google for example. I’m going to be posting tips about SEO with more details than this in the future as well but for now we leave it here.

Should you stop using hashtags on some or your posts because of this? Not really to be honest. A small tip about something I personally do is to create hashtag groups. Create 5 groups of different hashtags and take a new group every time you upload. By doing this you will make sure your not using the same hashtag until you have posted 5 pictures. Of course you can make more groups with relevant hashtags if possible but 5 is a good start.

This post today was just a short Sunday post about a mistake that is easy to fix that a lot of people don’t even know they are doing wrong. I didn’t have that much time today to be writing but I wanted to post something for you to read. Don’t overuse hashtags in the future.
