The importance of being honest on social media!

The importance of being honest instead of faking it is so huge. There are millions of posts being uploaded every minute. The internet is full of posts looking exactly the same. Every single day when I log into my account on Instagram I see the same tips and tricks but with different backgrounds from all the creators. I don’t even want to call these accounts creators. If you're uploading pictures without a personal touch the only thing you really do is copying ideas and pasting them on your page. You can still get a big following but the chances are as low as winning the lottery. Stop being stuck in how social media worked five years ago.

A very important question to ask yourself when managing your account and thinking about what to post is if you would have followed it yourself. When you look at the posts you post. Do you think you would have followed the account if there was someone else uploading the same content? This is something a lot of people struggle with and also explains the importance of being personal in your content. I don’t personally at least want to follow an account that only post pictures of things I already seen thousand times before.

The ideas are not the problem in this case either. People get millions of followers speaking about things that have been spoken about for many years. The thing is that they have their own opinion and their own touch on how to make it interesting. Always remember you want to make content for the future and not the past. Every scientist will tell you that no brains are exactly the same. We all have our gifts, opinions and different ways of looking at problems. Hearing a persons true and honest opinion is what make us wanting to follow them. Not copying someone else opinion.

You don’t need to lie to the world because they are going to figure it out anyway. If you have “Self claimed millionaire by 18” in your Instagram bio (which actually is more common than you think) just because you want people to follow you and buy your course its not going to work. The world love confident people but what the world love even more is honest people. If that bio is true so congratulation but in the most cases it’s not. People know you aren't the best business coach by the age of 19 because you still have so much more to learn from experience.

People don’t understand the attraction of being brutally honest. I can promise you more people are willing to follow you if you say “I’m interested in the business world and learning new thing every day to becoming a better coach”. That is a true statement and even if you want to be the best business coach in the world the most people know that is not the truth (yet).

Only because you have more things to learn and have many years left of practicing and failing it doesn’t matter. You still got your own personal way of looking at things. Explain what you think and how you look on the world. You can still make an impact on people even though you aren't an expert yet.

You may have five million followers or 5 followers and that is completely fine. There are always going to be someone that is ahead of you and also someone working to get to where you are at right now. Don’t focus on other people. Never compare yourself to other accounts. Focus on yourself and be the honest true you and people will admire that honesty and follow your process. That is how you get a following. Not by copying and pasting someone else opinions on your page. Stop being stuck in the 2017th social media. Social media has evolves and so should you.
